The Amazing Underwater Forest of Lake Kaindy
What makes Lake Kaindy truly remarkable is that it contains an underwater forest. Visible on the lakes surface are the tall, dried-out tops of submerged Spruce trees that rise above the water’s surface like the masts of sunken ships. They are the only sign of the amazing frozen forest below the water’s surface.
The water is so cold (even in summer the temperature does not exceed 6 degrees) that the pine needles remain on the trees, even after a hundred years of being submerged. During the winter, the lake freezes and becomes a popular spot for ice diving.
The lake is 400 meters long and is located in Kazakhstan’s portion of the Tian Shan Mountains, about 129 km from the city of Almaty. The lake was created after an earthquake in 1911 triggered a large landslide blocking the gorge and forming a natural dam.

AND THEY WERE PERFECT PARENTS TOO!
They were fiercely proud of their children’s accomplishments.
They played together as a family.
They went to school plays, parent/teacher interviews, and helped with school work.
They co-parented, Gomez was just as active in raising their children as Morticia was.
When their children wanted something that they disapproved of, they were disappointed but relented because it would make them happy.
Plus, all TV married couples kind of hate each other and argue 90% of the time for the sake of comedy, but these two have always seemed to be forever and always in love, which is kind of sweet.
And if that’s only possible because they’re weirdos, what does that say about us?
Is it odd I actually really like this post?
Reblogging this every time I see it.
Ahh I wish there was more of them nowadays
Excited!!
My father will be on a plane to Maryland in the very near future (tomorrow, I think..??) and I am very much looking forward to having the house to myself for awhile (during the day anyway, while the maternal part of the parental unit is at work). It will be nice to come and go as I please and to sit out in the sun and tan and do whatever without someone either bugging me during my quiet time or having to explain myself.
Good lord, the things that excite me. It’s sad really..
Having glasz-colored eyes…
I have to admit, I spent years trying to figure out what color my eyes are. I would ask my friends all the time. They would stare intently at my eyes, then give me their answer. I’ve heard it all really. I’ve heard blue. I’ve heard green, even hazel (which is surprising because there really isn’t much hazel/orange in them, but in the right lighting…). I remember one friend telling me my eyes are slate blue. I had no idea what that meant at the time so I gave up trying to figure out their color. If anyone asked me, I would shrug and simply say, “I dunno. Take your pick.”
For years, I refused to try and identify what color my eyes are. It wasn’t until recently that my best friend told me that it looked like I had ‘glasz’ eyes. What the heck are glasz eyes? I thought. I went and did an image search, and amen hallelujah… I DO have glasz eyes! I won’t sit here and brag about it or anything because it seems to be a very common eye color, but it is nice to know my eye color DOES have a name. No wonder my eyes pop when I do my peacock-inspired eyeshadow. It reflects all the colors of my eyes.
And on that note, I have determined that the peacock is indeed my totem. I’ve always had a fascination with peacocks and their beautiful coloring (the males anyway, lol). There are many other reasons but I don’t feel like going into it. And here I always just assumed that the lion was my totem animal simply because my zodiac sign is Leo. No. It’s the peacock. I understand that now. I’m moving forward on my journey to self-discovery.
Things that don’t define who I am-
- You
- My past
- What’s between my legs
- My sexual orientation
- How many people I have slept with
- Mistakes I have made
- The music I listen to
- YOU
What DOES define who I am
- ME.
